Re: Panhandlers

We PRI service and have a M7324 w/48 button add-on for the operator console. The Meridian software has been moved up to 6.1 and we have an old NAM 4 port voicemail system that just got upgraded to software version 4.1. Also, my internal extentions are 6xx instead of 2xx to so they match or DIDs (999) 999-16xx.

The console (621) is set up to ring when someone calls in on the main number (999) 999-1600 and when someone dial 0 from the Auto Attendant or someone's voice mail. The problem we have is when the operator turns on the Night mode for when she is away, the overhead ringer still buzzes a short beep, then goes to the Auto Attendant. Should a caller press 0 from the AA or when in someone's voice mail to reach the operator, the call comes back to the console, but does not ring the Night buzzer overhead.

Is there a way to set it up so when the console is on the Night mode, the operator console will only ring when a call comes into it when the caller presses 0 from the AA or Voicemail? I never want the overhead ringer to ring when a call comes in on the main number.

Make sure the operators extension is not in the same ring group that the night ring is set up for.

Norstar M7310 how to change caller name?

Not having the operators extension in the same ring group sounds like it should keep the night bell ringing during the day, but wouldn't I want the extension to be in the same group when Night mode is activate?

Symposium Report Definitions

Keeping the extension out of the ring group does not dictate what will ring when night mode is activated. The operator, having control of turning on and off night mode and what extensions are in the ring group are the deciding factors.

No.

With the information that has been provided, Shooter nailed this. Remove the operator's extension from the ring group and most (possibly all) of your problem is solved.

The one thing that is missing from your description is HOW the Night Ringer is 'activated'. Is it hanging off of the AUX ringer port, an ATA, a 7100 set, or some third party C.O. audible unit?

Fix the ring group, then post back if the Night Ringer is still not working as desired.

Good Luck!
