We have recently aquired a used Norstar CICS system with 6 phones.
The software cartidge has the following label:

NNTM8455MNP9
NT7B64BE
CICS-RIP 4.1 S.W WI6.15

We need to connect more then 8 phones to this system.
Questions:
Is there any way to tell if this is a restricted or standard software?
If this is a restricted software, do I just buy a new flash card with
the standard software or upgrade the existing with keycode?
Any suggestion where I can go to get more phones or software upgrade.

Thanks in advance for all the help anyone can provide.

Check what the SP of the software is. If the SP is 30NiG0X or 30NhG0X (with 'X' representing the release number) then you have restricted software. If the SP is 30Ne/Nf/NgG0X then you have the satndard version.

The restricted version will limit you to 8 sets and the IRAD will require a keycode to enable (for remote access). The standard version will allow up to 24 ext's (with a TCM card) and the IRAD will be enabled by default.

If you're unsure of how to get the SP number of the system, call your vendor to determine this.

Good Luck

Hi Skippy

Thanks for the info.
The SP of my software is 30NhG15, so it is restricted.

Do I purchase a new flash card or upgrade the existing one with keycodes?
Since I need to upgrade the software, should I get the latest version (I think it's version 6.1)?

Thanks for all the help.

Since it will be a new install. Buying a new software card would be the simple way to go.

You wasn SIP (Standard,IRAD,Prompts) not RIP (restricted,IRAD,Prompts)

Even if you don't care about the IRAD or the AA, make sure it says S.
