Greetings, I want to cross connect station ports from a Norstar 8x24 to a
point to point T1 which will have some kind of CSU/DSU installed at both ends duplicating the digital input and outputs for 24 stations.
Anyone out there have any practical applications that they would like to share info on? For instance, name and model number of CSU ? T1 signaling arrangements? Other than connecting to an 8x24,any pitfalls?
Thanks in advance, ADK

Point to point T1 replicating Digital station ports

Look at an MCK extender and Gateway.

If you could get by with analog ports (and have the ATAs available), you could extend them via T-1 using any drop-and-insert mux (with FXS/FXO ports) or channel bank. If you need to extend digital sets, use the MCKs (but it is going to be pricy for 24).

Good Luck!

http://www.mck.com

they have whats called a PBX Extender. Works great and can go across IP or dedicated T1 (but T1 method needs a CSU/DSU).

Check em out.

What Brewsky just said. They work great. I just installed another one today (The second on an 8 port gateway) and have so far had no problems at all. The first is working 75 miles away via DSL and a VPN. The unit installed today is working over the customers point to point T1 along with a bunch of medical data including imaging which eats up the bandwidth.

Thanks to all for the input! Nothing like having input from techs that work
on different applications. I greatly appreciate it.
