You too can have a 69-HH breast (not breasts)

Aquired a customer with a BCM400 that is begging me to get them on the VoIP Cool Cart. They have a Norstar MICS now, which I maintain.

I have tried to IP into it with an address written on the cover. 10.0.0.11, setting my own IP at 10.0.0.10

No luck
Is IP'ing into the BCM possible?

I also have a 7316 and the standard access (**266......) does not work. I have the greatest intrest to get into the BCM systems, and possibly get to the actual training.

Here is my question....... If posting some advise is to much, or those of you who have had the BCM training feel that your time is better spent giving a newbie free advise, I would be very willing to pay for an hour or so on the phone for some Crash training. Or if there are some things that someone would be interested in e-mailing, I would be a good resource for equipment.

Anyone.......Ferris Beuler.......anyone?????

Quick crash course: Login using the LAN 2 port. Use IP address 10.10.11.1. Should be default. LAN 1 is 10.10.10.1 default.

Depending on release you may have to have with :6800 after IP address to login. At the main screen you will see documentation. All you wnat to know is there. Including the login password.

Could make for an interesting read:

I totally appreciate your reply!

No luck though. It keeps giving me the basic NOGO page in XP explorer.

I set my computer to 10.10.11.99 or 10.10.11.5 255.255.255.0, and no luck. Any thoughts?

RE:

Are you sure that the IP address of the BCM is correct?

You can log into the BCM through the serial port to check the IP addresses on both of the LAN ports.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the response!

Well, that is possibly my problem. I can tell the two are talking to eachother because packets are being sent and received. When I tried to set my computer at the 10.10.11.1 by mistake, it said that there was already a device with that IP address. So I thought I had it, but no luck so far. Is using the serial port complicated? I have done it a couple of times, but not that often.

The saga continues.....

RE:

If you set the same address as the BCM, you will have to reboot the BCM.

Because the lan port is now disabled (I accidently did this myself once).

After you reboot the BCM you will be able to ping the 10.10.11.1 address.

Hope this helps.

Cool Tip Joe!

I've never noticed that happening (though I don't recall having done it). I'm gonna have to test this one!

Thanks!

Thanks everyone........

So far I have tried everything.

I can ping the 10.10.11.1 with a Xcable

I just can't get into the menu. Could the port be different 6800?

Any thoughts?
