We just installed an external ringer into our system (Compact ICS, Flash VM) and need some help tweaking some things out.

Is it possible to set the number of Rings before the VM Auto Attendent picks up after hours? Or, if they press 0 all the phones will ring X amount of times?

We would like to have all our phones ring, plus the external ringer, and be able to answer the phone from any location after hours. What would be best way to go about this?

So far, I have set the Aux ringer to Y for night service, and added all the phone sets to a ringing group, and gave the individual sets the capabiltiy of picking up that group.

When you are using a Service Mode like Night, you can not control the number of rings before a call goes into voicemail, thus losing Call Display Information. You would have to leave the Night Service off and program the Auto Attendant to answer lines after X rings during day and night.

If you still wish to have the Voicemail pick up the calls using the night service, you could create a HUNT GROUP i(f you have 3 digit system) and add all the sets as members to the Hunt Group ( Ring Only ).

Then forward the main reception telephone set to the Hunt Group allowing all the sets to ring. The AUX Ring Y option only applies to Lines. If you associate AUX: Y under the Capabilities settings of an extension or even the IATA ext number if it is not in use. Add the IATA extension as one of the extensions in the Hunt Group.

Play around with some of these options, and see if this could work for you.

We are using 2 digit extensions since we only have about 12 phones in our system, to the hunt group is out.

Is there a way to forward a phone to a calling group?

We have decided to change from the 2 digit extension to 3 to get the Hunt Group functionality. Then have in our after hours message, say something like press XXX to try and reach someone, then have all the phones ring, along with the aux ringer, then have the ability to answer the call on any phone in the system.

The hunt groups can be assigned an extension number correct? Since we are on the 2 digit right now, I can't look at look the Hunt Group section under System Programming.

wireless options

After changing your system from 2 digits to 3 digits you will have the function of Hunt Groups. Each Hunt Group will have a system assigned extension number. Example Hunt Group 01 - 625

Please be advised...you will have to re-program your voicemail from scratch as you can not bump the digits up to 3.
