At one site we currently have one line that goes directly to the fax machine outside the system. I know that call pilot has fax detection, however, was wondering if it was possible to do fax detection with an MICS 5.1 and Flash 2? I would like to hook an ATA to the fax machine and then allow the line to be used for faxing as well as direct auto-attendant access for checking voicemail remotely.

Thanks,
Jes

Sorry HC, no fax detection on the Flash. However, why not use a fax switch with the line. Send it to the fax, and to a port on a LS/DS card. If it is a fax call, the switch will recognize the CNG tone and send the call to the fax mach. If not, it will send it to the LS/DS port and you can prog the Flash to ans as you want.

I use some ComShare750, but if you get alot of faxes you may get some complaints if this line is tied up all the time

We use a brand called "The Stick", no programming involved. Just plug it in and your all setup. Not sure where our materials gut gets them though.

Symposium scripting question

The stick is made by multitech. Available at most interconnect suppliers accross US and Canada. If you aren't sure do a google search for stick fax detection. We use that too, never had any complaints. It's around $120 US
