| RE: Hi. Just took over BCM responsibility. We changed the passwords to the supervisor and other accounts via the web interface. Seemed to work just fine, we were able to log in using the new passwords. Now, the system does not allow us to log in to any of the accounts! (Via the web interface). We are using 3.5 on what looks like a 400 box. Our Support vendor says we are hosed and have to buy a new hard drive. Does anyone know how we can resolve this? Can we reset the system settings to the default, Remotely log in using VNC or remove the hard disk and access it from a PC and then change the settings (ughh.)?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The system is working just fine, we just need to change some settings on where the logs are being sent to. (BTW- we had successfully changed the IP address of the BCM around the same time as the passwords.) We access the main (home) web page just fine, it just keeps saying (bad login/password or locked out.) Steve | ||||||||

| DCH message Unfortunately, we changed the ee_admin password and ModemBackup accounts as well to the same password. Locked down the system essentially. Did it to our other BCM and it continues to work just fine. We continue to access it after the password change. (We were able to access this system directly after the password change with the new password as well!) Our vendor is Shared Technology. We've been very happy with them... Thanks for any help... | Yes, we have a maintenance contract, but Shared is telling me that we need to buy a new hard disk and 4-6 hours to install it. Seems like there must be a simpler, smarter answer. Do you work for Nortel or a vendor? There must be a way to reset the system to it's defaults somehow. S | ||||||||

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | BCM 3.5 has an OS that Nortel ITAS can get access to the system and reset the passwords. Pass this on to your vendor and make them work through ITAS. If you can't and you know the dial-up number to your systems modem, email me at: donnie@brewskynet.com and I will get ITAS involved. Brewsky | ||||||||
