connect caller's menu to 800# endpoint

Avaya system; an established 800# connecting to endpoint number at an Administrative desk has gotten busy; we established a Type 31 Caller's Menu and Type 34 Transfer mailboxes; the Caller's Menu (2400) works but now I need to connect the Caller's menu to the endpoint number (4147) which is also one of the options. Tried a cover path but it didn't work.
Any thoughts?

This doesn't sound like a Definity question. What kind of Avaya system do you have?

I am new to telecom support but am quite positive this is Definity - when I log in through ProComm - it says: system G3rV9; if I do not use ProComm, I use Definity Site Adminstrator Release R1.5.05 build on Oct 7, 1999

Now, here is my problem: 800# to endpoint 4147; when I try to modify 4147 and give it a cover path to my Caller's Menu (2400) - then dial the 800#, I get a busy signal -- How do I connect 4147 to my caller's menu?

Ok, you confused me by saying type 31 caller's menu and type 34 transfer mailboxes because those are not Definity choices.

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing. Your incoming 800 number is pointed to a DNIS of 4147 and you have programmed a station with the number 4147 assigned to it, correct? Now you want to have that station cover to a hunt group or station with the number 2400 on it, are we still talking about the same thing?

If I have restated your problem correctly, what you do is create a cover path with an end point of 2400 in it and then assign that cover path to the the station 4147. If you never intend to answer calls at 4147 then you can make the port an "x" and then all calls will immediately follow the cover path.

You restated the problem correctly however, when I modify 4147 to cover path with the end point of 2400; I get a busy signal when I dial the 800#; do I need to get rid of the 4147 voice mailbox? Oh, and here's another item: 4147 is a bridged appearance on a 6408 - does it need to be removed?

Lightbulb connection resolved; menu works

I deleted the 4147 TYPE 0 voice mailbox, recreated it as a TYPE 34 Transfer mbx and pointed it to the TYPE 31 Caller's Menu - 2400

I am glad you solved your problem because I doubt that I would be able to. All these references to a Type x mbx tells me that you have a voice mail that I have never worked on.
