Avaya INDEX phone systems freezing

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on a problem that we have every few months. We have several Index systems which are network and linked via IPNC cards. Occasionally all the systems freeze, thats every phone switch on several of our sites causing phones to lock up, to resolve this we soft reset the phone switch.

On looking at the logs there is nothing obvious which is apparent. We have had our network team looking into it incase it is lan/wan which may be causing this but are still looking for answers.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Which version software is it running?
What other applications is connected to the system?
What type of CPU (CPU,CPUV or CPU-X)?

Occasionally it could be just a corrupt database, which means a manual re-type of the database.
Also check that the system clocks are in sync. I would usually use them in this order
1. ISDN Provider
2. Network Interface
3. System clock

From memory I can't remember having to many problems with the IPNC board locking up the system, but then you are using an old cut down IP office/argent (IPNC), which are not reknown for reliabilty.

They use The old "POTS" phones

They use the old "POT" system phones. There are digital phones also used in this system.
This is a rare to see nowadays but i hav taken some calls with regard to this PBX remotely.
