Cool AVAYA Daylight Saving Time (DST)

Hi Guys,

Anybody who encountered a CM3.1 where DST did not automatically took effect? We have an AVAYA S8720 servers with CM3.1; DST is configured on the system with the corresponding DST rule in effect.

Unfortunately, it did not took effect on the date the DST change. We have another S8700 server with CM2.2 and DST worked fine.

Anybody who knows any issues or we might take a look at?

I would check your location table. You may have daylight savings active in your time rules but if you don't tell it that your location uses that rule, nothing will change.

It's all set; even our vendor could not see any wrong setting done.

There are only two places to set day light savings. One is "set time" to turn on DST rules. The other is "change loc" to set DST for your switch.

Display the above commands and see what DST rule is used, that will usually be rule 1. Then "display day" to verify that there is something defined in rule 1. That rule comes predefined from Avaya.

I do not have CM3.1 so maybe it has another place to go. If your vendor can not find it, have them escalate to Avaya.

Do you have a time sync server? I read a statement put out by Avaya that they had some issues with time sync servers causing issues like this.
