Cool What is the easy way?

What is the easy way to use Asterisk?
I think GUI is an easy way but why CLI is recommended?
Some useful tips to handle Asterisk?

You really can't do everything from the GUI. If you are used to Linux CLI is probably the easiest, and fastest way. If you are not familiar with Linux there is no "easy" way. The CLI allows much more fine tuning than the GUI. Have you found you can do all you want to from the GUI?

Once you learn it, it seems like you will be able to do a lot within the system.

Pesonally, I just haven't had the time or will to try to learn it, I prefer a GUI like Trixbox.
I just use it for home use so its not a big deal.

And if the GUI doesn't do what you want, you just need to "add" it.. I'm just trying to learn where the files are to hack on FreePBX, as they moved them all around compared to AMP.. I was able to add "call-limit" which is what replaced "inboudlimit" and "outboundlimit", but am having trouble getting it to read the config file back properly. So, it will save to the config, and everything is great, but if you edit an extension, the "call-limit" will come up blank, and if you don't enter a number and click "apply" it will delete the parameter.. oops..
