Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hopefully someone can answer these. 1. Is there any way to program a softkey on the phone to log in to a specific extension? If not, is there a way to remotely register an IP phone to a specific extension via a script or something that can be called automatically? - We've got a couple of people that travel between the offices and we'd would like them to log in to their extensions at the phone they happen to be at...not a problem. the issue is that when they leave, we'd like the phone put back to it's original extension either with a single button press, or even better automatically at some time after hours. 2. Phrase management - The Dial by name prompt includes the Dial by name phrase then the "To reach the operator, press 0" phrases. We don't have an operator here, so I'd like to adjust the prompt to not include the operator phrases. I figure that 0 will still attempt to dial the operator extension, but without the prompt hopefully no one will try it. 3. If I have an incoming call, I can send it to VM without picking up the receiver through the pc interface (Altiview). Is there anyway to do this from the phone? Thanks.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Answers to your 3 questions Try programming a soft key on the phone to use the remote call forwarding feature. This allows you to remotely forward a phone, rather than acutally change the extension. So my office is a point A, I go to point B, pick up any phone and as long as I have the credentials of the phone at point A, I can remotely forward all my calls. Once they turn the forwarding off the extension, which never changed anyway, will be back to it's original value. You have to contact Altigen for a copy of the Phrase that omits the "Operator" portion of the hold Phrase. They do have this. No way to shoot a call directly to VM from the Phone itself that I am aware of.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for the reply. 1. I think that's what were going to end up doing, the only drawback is that if you have multiple callers in your hold queue, they appear on the "real" extension's list which mean you have to have Altiview running for BOTH extensions if you want to see voicemail and the caller list. 2. I did discover that if you completely disable the operator in the system config, the phrase goes away. Wow, things work the way they should! 3.
