Samsung DS2100B installation - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

I've spent a few days now looking for information regarding the Samsung DS2100B and so only found its basic user guide. The problem I'm having is with using it with a Samsung DCS Compact I phone system that I've inherited administration of.

The Samsung 12 and 24 button phones that are connected all work perfectly but if I connect a DS2100B it does not get dial tone nor can it dial another extension. The phone does ring when its extension is called but it can never be answered as when the receiver is picked up it carries on ringing.

The Samsung Compact I I'm trying to use it with has one 6x dli extension board and a 2x sli board. Is there anything I need to set to allow this model of phone to work on it?

I must say I was a little confused at first. Your profile says you are in the US but that is not were this phone resides. We also dont have a compact 1.

If I had to venture a guess at your setup I would say that the system is too old for the phone you purchased. The phone you purchased should work fine on a newer system. Like the OS series or the IDCS series.

If memory serve's the compact 1 and 2 are EOL as of about 7 years ago.

Sorry about that, I must have missed the country option, I've updated it.

Anyway, its an old system that belonged to a sister company of the one I work for and we've just moved office so I'm recycling it.

The ds1200b's were with the system so I assumed they had used them with it as they didn't have another system or I would have that as well.

They did have 11 kpdcs-12b terminal phones which all work perfectly and thankfully are enough for all the desks in the new office.

I've been searching for information and so far all I've found is that it they 'should' work on any samsung digital system but I guess not in this case.

Thats good news. In the states we do not have that ability. Most Samsungs here change likethe wind.
