Location: Marbella Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Alcatel OmniPCX how to make changes? Hello all! I have an OmniPCX that we purchased 2nd hand two years ago. Our entire office is equipped with Reflex Premium and Reflex Advanced phones. I have since had a technician come in and tell us that we can't upgrade the hardware without the licenses, (which is fair enough) and the price tags associated are astronomical. We're only a small firm, and I have very limited knowledge of these PBX systems myself. They don't have training in my area, and as a matter of fact, the system is running great as it is. I have two very small issues however that I am hoping you will be able to help me with: 1. Up until the technician came, I was using PM5 to make changes, but the technician informed me that this is not compatible at all with our PBX, and I could be messing it up! Therefore is there another GUI that I can use with my system? If so, where can I get my hands on it? (The technician told me he is not allowed to give it to me!) 2. We operate several different companies out of this office. Right now we have various hunting groups set up for where the phone ring at what hour of the day, but I also would like to differenciate which lines ring at which stations, and perhaps also include a different ringtone? I have tried to find a user manual or how-to on the web without any success, and if anyone knows of one (or could write me a quick one) I would be very grateful! I would like to thank you in advance for your time!! I do not know how to 'specify' exactly what system I am running on, so I have included here a trimmed down version of our license file: --------------------------------------------------------------- Customer Profile: ------------------------------------------------------ Database Name Last Save 14/05/2005 PM5 Version 3EH30343AQAA PMI300/12.1 Target Product Spain Alcatel OmniPCX R1.x/R2.x/R3.x Target ID aes100 Target Directory aes100 System Description: ---------------------------------------------------- System Type Alcatel OmniPCX Product Business Active SW Version 3EH30290CZAA ALZFR110/030.011 Active Country Francia Replacement SW Version 3EH30290CZAA ALZFR110/030.011 Replacement Country Francia Number of Cabinets 1 Cabinets:--------------------------------------------------------------- Main Cabinet OMNI PCX S (1G) Board Versions:--------------------------------------------------------- Slot Software Version Board Type Board Variant CPU 3EH30190AQAA 2.007 CPU CPU 1 3EH30190AQAA 2.007 Mixed MIX484 2 3EH30190AQAA 2.007 Mixed MIX484 Software Key Features: ------------------------------------------------- Voice communication: --------------------------------------------------- Usuarios Reflexes 24 Analog users 16 eReflexes users 0 ePIMphony users 0 Mobile Reflexes users 0 Multi-site: ------------------------------------------------------------ ISVPN Desabilitado QSIG Desabilitado B channels 0 e-Server: -------------------------------------------------------------- Shared internet access and firewall Desabilitado Proxy server for Internet access control and WEB caching Desabilitado E-mail server Desabilitado Secured Internet tunneling VPN Desabilitado IP channels 0 DSL permission Desabilitado LAN to LAN permission Habilitado System features: ------------------------------------------------------- ARS Habilitado DISA / DISA Transit Habilitado System and voice mail languages 2 Call facilities: ------------------------------------------------------- Voice mail ports 2 Voice mail storage 20 Mailbox greetings Habilitado Distribution list Desabilitado Record online Desabilitado Automated Attendant Cerrado Audio Text Desabilitado Fax modem switching Desabilitado Greeting Messages 4 Customized Music on Hold 2 Remote Customization (VMU) Habilitado Network Management: ---------------------------------------------------- NMC metering tickets 1000 e-Applications: -------------------------------------------------------- PIMphony Reflexes Pro users 5 PIMphony Reflexes Team users CTI: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Monitoring Sessions TAPI 2.0 Server 50 25 AOCC CSTA desktop client Central Services 208 4 CSTA server TAPI 2.1 server Busy Lamp Field Open Telephony Server Unified Communication Office ---------------------------------------------------------------

Location: Marbella Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Dear murzilla, Thanks very much for getting back to me so quickly! So PM5 CAN be used with this (very old I know) version of software without any repercussions? We DO have a copy of PM5 that we received (we purchased this PBX 2nd hand via Ebay you see). Thanks for the PM! Got it and trying to sort everything out now. I will revert as soon as I have a chance to delve into this further! Just one quick point, do you know off-hand if my question number 2 is possible with our system? I really don't mind doing the research myself (as I will need to know how to do it / change it anyway) but if it's simply not possible, then I won't bother! Thanks again

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | There are various ways to do this. 1. You could set a a hunt group for each company and route the lines/DDI for these companies to the relevant Hunt Group. When a call is received the name of the hunt group will be displayed. 2. If the companies have a dedicated line you could set up a dedicated special access key for each company on your handsets so that an incoming call is identified by the ringing icon next to the key. Press the key to answer the call. 3. if the call is a DDI number you can set up a DDI key similar to above. 4. You could also send the call to a virtual extension and forward it's call to a single group and again identify the call by the name of the virtual extension on the screen. Hope this gives you some ideas Lloydie T

Location: Marbella Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Dear Lloydiet Thank you very much for your reply! I understand in principle what needs to be done (thanks for clearing that up) the ONE step in the procedure that I can't seem to work out is: How do I set it up to: "route the lines/DDI for these companies to the relevant Hunt Group" I can not see where within PM5 I can set this up? Also, we currently have hunt groups, but when the phone rings, it displays the number that is calling (not the hunt group) so where do I change this configuration? Many thanks once again!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | In 'Numbering plans', select 'Public Number plans'. Here you can a DDI/Trunk call dist number to route to a hunt group. type = Hunt Grp Start = 1234 End = 1234 Base = 52 Or something like that. Remember if you are not using DDI you need to set the 'call dist' number in the trunk interface to be able to route it properly. Also remember to set the Name in the Hunt Group Lloyd

Location: Marbella Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks very much Lloyd. I'm sorry, but I am still utterly and totally in the dark here... We don't have any existing Public Number Plans for me to base my entries on and all of my 'guesses' have not worked. Can you please tell me what exactly where you would get the values for the "1234" and "1234" and "52" that I should be entering here? According to my boss, we ARE using DDI, and we have one trunk group, and one hunt group. Maybe I am just getting confused as to which of the 'ways' this refers to? Could you please just tell me where to go from start to finish (assuming that we don't have anything configured on our system?) I would be extremely grateful, as I have kept trying to find a "how-to" anywhere on the internet and still come up with nothing! Surely, I must not be the only novice in the world that wants to do this!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | You should be able to obtain your DDI numbers from your service provider. Once you have that information replace the values '1234' with the DDI number. If you go to hunt groups, You should be able to see a list of groups. These usually start with 51 (VoiceMail) but can be something else. You would usually add some extensions to the second hunt group (usually 52). This hunt group is then used as the 'base' number in the 'public numbering plan'. If you are not using DDI. The you need to set Pseudo DDI in the external trunk access for each line using 'Call Dist' and set up your 'public number plan'

Location: Marbella Rep Power: 0 ![]() | 8 Digit DDI versus 9? Hello again Lloydiet, thanks once again! I am now getting there (I think). Our system was set up as follows: Hunting Groups Only one Hunting Gruop, 500 - Voicemail, Cyclic, 8 members No other Hunting groups set! Attendant Groups 3 different attendant groups allocated by Time Ranges This means that effectively, all phone lines would ring on all phones that were allocated to the particular attendant group that was in effect at the time of call. This setup needs to be changed, whereby CERTAIN DDIs ring only on certain phones, and the DDI (or better yet, the company name attached to the DDI) is then displayed on the phone as it rings. It is clear that there are some underlying fundamentals (and configurations) I am clearly missing. The 'big question' for me with your last post is "add some extensions to the second hunt group - usually 52). What second hunt group is there? Also, in the Public Numbering Plans... the start and end only allow for 8 characters, but here in Spain, the DDI would be 9 digits? I do not follow how I would enter this!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | OK I think your are getting there. In 'Hunt Groups' you should have a list of index numbers like the following 1 500 2 3 ...etc If no number is assigned to index 2, add 501 and on index 3 add 502 This will create your additional groups. You can now add some members to these groups and add a company name. you have two option regarding DDI numbers you can ask you provider to send 6 digits or you can use the DDI translation table to cut down the number of digits. I can't remember how to use it, but is should be straight forward. somethong like change 123456789 to 456789. One more thing are you using the expert tool? If the login password is not something like "pbx*****", we may be using different programming tools and you may have a problem accessing the programming functions required. Do you have a dial in number?
