Question Premium reflexes 4020

Hello,

I'm working as a IT/general user support tech and i've got a few users complaining about the voicemail function on this phone. More precisely that it switches to the voicemail way too quickly, after 2 or 3 rings.

It's the first time i'm dealing with these phones and i've looked everywhere for any possible menu options both online and in the manual. Is it at all possible to change how quickly a caller gets forwarded to the phone's voicemail?

We have a PBX4400, so i'm wondering if i maybe have to set that up on that instead of on the phone itself?

Any info would be greatly appreciated,

One of my colleagues once modified this setting.
If I remember correctly, it is in NMC. Go to COnfiguration, to open configuration utility.
Go to SYSTEM - TIMERS, and there should be a timer that you need. Check the documentation to find the right one, I think it should be the one for Overflow. Value should be in miliseconds, if I'm not mistaken. Sorry, but I am not at the Alcatel PC at the moment....
It affects all the system, specifying the time after which the call will be trensfered to owerflow (VM, or on FWD IF BUSY/NOT ANSWERING number).
Be sure to write down the original value, just in case you'll have to restore the setting...

If i not mistaken such ammendments better not to change coz it actually changes all the extensions when you set the no.of rings for the divertion to voicemail. Unless you individualise them. And if i were you ask, the vendor to do it for you as it involves advanced settings. And also i last seen my seniors done them and it also requires restart of telephone systems and that will cause downtime to your telephone systems and it's definitely not recommended.

And may i know that are you using external voice mail or built it voice mail system ? Coz settings differs for 2 different kinds of voice mail. And both have different ways to configure.
