Siemens DECT phones on Alcatel 4400

Hello.
On our 4400, we're using Alcatel DECT 4074 and, lately, Siemens SL1 colour. SL1 are registered as GAP sets in 4400. Sometimes, they are not receiving some or all calls, and in system they appear "busy" even if they are not. Usually the ordinary switch-off-switch-on cycle helps, but sometimes I have to completely remove that number from database and re-create it and then register... Also, they cannot do the "seamless roaming", nor text messaging. I haven't seen that GAP "advanced" mode on SL1 menus at all... Could You, please, help me with this?
...by the way, we have about 250-300 of 4074 sets and about 150 SL1 sets in operation.
Thanks.

Which exact SW version of 4400?On some old releases support of GAP for other manufacturer's DECT sets was not good? becuase of different implementations of GAP protocol. Try to get upgrade to the latest patch.
As for seamless roaming - forget about it. It is supported only by Alcatel's sets.

Hi. Thanks for very quick answers.
The 4400 version we're using is:
R3.0-c1.532-5-w
and I don't think it is going to be updated.
There is a slim possibility, but my experience is telling me othervize
The reason we're using Siemens SL1 is just money. Now we're trying to find an even cheaper solution...
Yes, old 4074GI sets were easy to repair, but after 6 years of abuse (that's correct, my people are not just USING them ), well, what can I say... SL1 look great and are slick and small, but are very sensitive, especially to humidity, and keypad is not too tough. I've been even trying to find just a keypad for them as a spare part, but no luck at all. Allright, now I'm going off the topic...
Did I mention that SL1 from time to time tend to get "stuck", not receiving calls, and sometime also cannot make one. The fix for that is just re-creation of the number (dectrm, delete from database, create again, and then dectinston). Maybe you have some other, easier way?

There is a little probability that patch c1.532-5-aa can solve your problem. It is not an upgrade to the latest SW version so it is free of charge.
This release is very old and at that time there were a lot of misunderstanding between manufacturers in GAP implementation so that's why SL1 work so bad on 4400.
