Question "Breaking Out" on an OXO

Hi all. Need some help ! I have a customer with a VoIP network within all their sites. They have requested if they can "break out" from one site that has no BT service to use the BT lines at another office over VoIP. I know it's possible using the ARS table but what is the programming process, does anyone know ?

Your help would be so much appreciated

Many Thanks

You need to program the ARS on the site without BT trunks to send the number prefixes for BT calls to the site with the BT trunks via the IP links.

On the site with the BT trunks program the public (and restricted public) or private numbering plans (depending on whether the ARS is programmed as public or private network for the IP links) need to have the BT prefixes programmed in them to send the calls to ARS as you would the internal numbering plan.

example:

Non-BT site wants all calls starting with 81 to break out of BT site.

ARS on non-BT site would have 81 programmed in ARS to go via the IP link to the BT site. Let's assume the ARS entry for this is "priv".

On the BT site, the private numbering plan would need a line in it like this:

Secondary trunk group, start=81, end=81, base=ARS

Calls starting with 81 will then go to the BT site's ARS table and be sent accordingly.

Hope this makes sense

This is brilliant, Thanks very much. Quick question, do I need to enter anything in the BT sites List of Truck Groups so that the non BT site can dial out from the BT site ?

Many Thanks
Carl

Not really, the call will be processed by the BT site's ARS the same as a call originating from the BT site.

In regards to the above, I've programmed the oxo to the above spec but I can't dial out from the site with the BT lines....from the site with no BT lines, I can dial but it seems that the call end when trying to use the other sites BT lines............any ideas would be much appreciated. Below is what is programmed on each of the sites:

Site with no BT lines:
Internal No. Plan - Function=Main Trunk Grp Start=9 End=9 Base=ARS NMT=Keep Priv=Yes
ARS Table entry is programmed as per instructions

Site with BT lines:
Private No.Plan - Function=Sec trunk Grp Start=9 End=9 Base=ARS NMT=Keep Priv=Yes
ARS Table is programmed as Priv, with prefix 9, Subs 9, pointing to trunk id 2 where BT lines are.

I can dial 9 then the number, it looks like it's going over the IP link but then you get "unobtainable" !!

Please Help !!!!!!!

Many Thanks

Carl.
