Cool Linking both Lan ports within BCM programmig

I was wondering if anybody has been able to get a BCM system to have it's IP Trunks working on e.g. LAN 1 & IP extns working off e.g. LAN 2 etc?. I'm also wondering if it's possible to get the IP Phones or Trunks to register off either BCM Lan port?.
Would I need to setup the default Gateways between the 2 LAN's?, & is there a guide that I could follow please, assuming that this can be done.
I've recently managed to set-up my BCM to a Succession 1000M via the Gateway & I'd like to make use of my other Lan port to expand my network.
