New system

We're in the process of getting a new Altigen system running. We have the server at one office and a second office running IP phones. There was no problem at all with the install of the system. We are however having issues getting our T1 reapportioned (we have a Panasonic analog system at location 1 that is still running at the moment), so currently we are using the Altigen for inter-office communication only. Supposedly the T1 reconfig is going to be late next week and we'll be off and running.

My thoughts on what I've seen so far (I'm the phone admin by the way)...

Configuration is easy and really intuitive. We're going to have multiple DID's coming in that will point to specific huntgroups to ring each office's phones depending on what phone number was dialed. We were going to have all IP phones but our fax posed a problem. We didn't want to shell out the $2800 for an analog output board for just the fax machine, but I ended up getting one on Ebay for $500 (There are a lot of Altigen components available there). ON the IP phone side, right now we're using the ethernet switch in the phones (IP710) to daisy chain to our computers. It seems like you get a lot of cutting in and out if your computer is using heavy network bandwidth so we may have to run seperate phone and computer ethernet cables to each station...we'll see.
I like the phones themselves, the computer based client is great, and the admin interface is superb (that's the main reason we went with this system - we had quotes from Shoretel and Intertel as well as NEC's Aspire - Although Altigen came in with the lowest price as well).
