| I'm assuming you have a NEC Neaxmail system on your 2000.
Unless the the default setup has been changed, you can reach the dial by name directory by dialing 555 from the main menu. You can set this up as an option (press 4 for a staff directory etc...) from the main greeting/opening box.
By default the directory is by last name only, but can be changed to first name.
