This is rather timely for me. Next week end, I am suppose to go to my Grandmother's home for a cookout. I will be seeing my Father, and his wife, my brother, and possibly my sister. All of this sounds fairly boring and normal. I am now 36 years old. I have met my Father 3 times and spoken to him 2 on the phone. The last time we spoke, I was 22. At that time he said, "out of sight, out of mind kiddo". I said, "you don't have fangs, horns, or a pointy tail but, in my mind's eye you always will". Then we hung up the phone.
Can you say, "I have issues" when it comes to this person? I have been so ambivolent for so long. I just don't know how to react or what I should be expecting. I am really very nervous about the whole thing.
Gees, I didn't know he was married, again... this is number 3, I think. I met my brother when I was 10 and again at 22. I have never seen my sister.
What do you wear to something like this? I thought about making a tee shirt that said something like, " is you da baby daddy???". I just don't know that they would find that amusing.
