Chas2002, thanks for the reply.
As it turns out, having been the webmaster of numerous sites of varying sizes, I am well aware of the problems associated with Spammers, specifically with regards to common SMTP routing paths like
webmaster@host.com.
In my professional opinion, if a website is going to have a link that says:
mailto://webmaster@host.com for any questions regarding the site, the link should be directed to a page that provides a custom form with visual key or other security mechanisms used to prevent spamming. This way, the website is able to not only achieve the level of service that one expects when contacting a site's webmaster, but it is also able to focus the needs of the users to make further communication more efficient.
Regardless, a blanket mailto:// link
(as was provided at the Comdial website), goes a long way towards influencing one's opinion about the reliability or even existence of other common SMTP routing paths like
support@host.com or
help@host.com or
comments@host.com. As for contacting Comdial in the morning, I plan to do just that. I was really hoping to have worked out the changes I need before tomorrow and was hoping my post would reach the sympathetic ears of some generous soul who knows how important it can be to get work done on the weekend before the office opens on Monday.
With that said, I would like to once again thank you for taking the time to reply. I plan to visit the link you provided for Chaos Theorem and I look forward to checking out the other links as well. Thanks again for your input.
Best Wishes,
Jase
