| Drew, If your sites are connected by an IP network, have you considered using an SRG (Survivable Remote Gateway) 50 for your remote site? A special software version of the BCM 50, called an SRG 50, is installed at the remote site. The SRG provides local trunking for local calling, 911 support and survivability but the IP phones at the remote site register to a host site, one of your larger systems. Since the IP phones at the small remote office are registered to a host site they have access to all the same applications including corporate directory. The SRG 50 also provides for local registration of the IP phone at the remote location in the event of a WAN failure. This allows the IP phones at the small branch to call each other and also access the trunks on the SRG to make local and 911 calls. You might want to talk to Nortel or your Nortel partner to explore whether an SRG would be a good solution. |
