Well it happens during inbound and outbound, internally and externally.

actualy the noise happens as soon as you lift the reciever. Holding down the button that the reciever rests on kills all sounds including static (sorry dont know my terminology)

really baffled what to try next,

so you can make and recieve calls, but this loud clicking almost automatic weapon firing sound is blasting in your ears, and the wierd thing is I have at least 3 different phones doing this. I do know that the wiring in the building is very old. (but I was thinking if wiring has gone bad wouldnt it stop working all together?)

and the the hundreds of other phones in our building are not having this problem
