This is very well put. I think that this info should be more readily available to ALL visitors. I'm not an M1 guy, so I wouldn't have seen it if Twisted hadn't posted a reply.
Most of it is common sense (or should be). I really like your comment regarding the "inexperienced people". I am all for helping someone out. But, when it is obvious (by the WAY the question is asked) that the person has NO experience, you can be doing them a disservice by leading them into a SIMPLE change. If they don't have any experience, they probably don't understand how one parameter may impact another. If a poster gets a reply that suggests they find a vendor to help them, it's NOT because the replying party is a jerk (most of the time

). It is usually to keep them out of trouble, and SAVE them money in the long run.
