We also have Symposium (4.2 with 4.5 web client) and we too are moving away from Symon 2000 (old kit, reduction in those with SYmon skills, less flexibility)
We have one site that has had the boards migrated to a Symon Symposium collector (version 6) and have found that the boards actually update ahead of the realtime displays!
At other sites, we have installed plasma screens and put the web client real time displays upon them. These seem to work well as long as you keep the number of stats down to a minimum.
