| TELRAD If you've already done the easy things (change the phone / line cords, dis/enl 'ing the port), it's time to get methodical. Start at the beginning. Does it work coming out of the PBX, without a jumper attached? Does it work coming into the IDF on the feeder, without the jumper going to the station wire? Does it work at the end of the station cable with the jack detached (yes, jacks do go bad too). It's tedious, but if you go one step at a time, you always, every single time, find the problem. The art of telephony is knowing when to stop doing the likely things and switch into Methodical Man. |
