Who resolve IP to TN translation ? or IP to DN ?
Where is table kept ? In SigServ or CSE ?
When a phone is registered to the TPS these function are handeled by the Call server and TPS. My undrestanding is the Call server knows DN to TN and the TPS knows TN to IP. SO a user dials the 2001. THe Call Server says send that call to tn 77-1 which is virtual and in Node 111 so the Node leader steps in and says TN 77-1 is IP 192.168.100.1.
The Gatekeeper function is compleatly seperate and only used for calls coming from H323 end points. As you said the gatekeeper is not necessary if you are not tandeming calls from external switches of endpoints. |
