Funny how he says "convergence" has been an industry buzzword for only about 5 years. I remember everyone talking the same talk back in the late 80's/early 90's when ISDN, ATM, and SONET/SDH were supposed to drive convergence. Sure all of those play a big part in converge IP networks, but it's certainly not in the roles they were designed to play.
