I work for an IT Solutions company, we do everything from running cable, install networks, troubleshoot problems, build and sell new PC's etc in IT.

Now my boss wants me to learn how to install phone systems, and has given me a quote which was given to one of our clients by a Comm company, to install a new PBX based phone system.

He wants me to take the quote, which they are offfering the NEC Elite IPK Basic, and do research on a different brand system and write my own quote!

Is this feasible of him to ask. I pride myself on picking up new technologies quickly, but I feel like im diving into a pool with no water here.

Is it easy enough to learn about and then, possibly go to a site and install a brand new phone system?

Where would I start doing research? I have been searching on the web and there doesnt seem to be much as far as "Intros" or "crash courses" go.

Any help is apprecieated.
