| I saw a similar inquiry on another board a few days ago. Anyway, for wiring you'll want Nortel's "Telephone & Attendant Console Installation" Pub (Nortel Part Number 553-3001-215). I agree with Pirates_Ghost and his suggestion for using NCFW to the 2616 would seem to be the most expeditious. Moving an entire console as a "holiday" thing, just to move it back later, seems like overkill. But, if this is what your boss wants I would suggest that you get someone (a vendor, if you have one, or another telecom tech) that has done this before to help you. It "should" be a simple thing but sometimes console troubles can develop pretty quickly. However, if that isn't an option, and presuming you've already got the new cable laid in and terminated at the new location, moving it can be pretty hassle free. When I have to relocate or even work on a console it's pretty much always after hours so the attendant has already night forwarded the console. When moving a console, I simply disable the console in the switch (I've been told this isn't necessary, but it doesn't hurt), disconnect the console, move the cross connects either in the closet or the switchroom (depending on which is more efficient.) to the new cable, connect the console at the new location, re-enable the console in the switch, take it off of night forwarding and test it for proper operation then put it back in night forward. Good luck. __________________ Respectfully, H. E. Hallett Field Service Technician Scottel Voice and Data |
