| Fletch is correct on the MWI. If you don't have pure copper (i.e., the telco converts the signal to fiber at some point) you won't have visual MWI. Anyhow, you don't want the 100v or so that it takes to light the MWI outside your plant. Considering the XOPS vs analog MW line card, I cheat and have both in my switch (I have about 90 OPS circuits) thru telco. I've not had any lightning or other issues in the past three years. I put in two XOPS cards for some of my "troubled" circuits (I know some of mine run 4-5 miles on pure copper) to allow me to adjust loop length, etc., if needed. |
