| I'm guessing that she's not the first person to flop around in the floor at that place. It has probably always turned out to be some nut doing whatever it is that nuts do, or a play for attention. Sort of the "cry wolf" syndrome. The employees have become so numb to it over time, that they thought this was just another wack-o being, well, wack-o. Sort of like visiting a nursing home. There's always at least one old person in a wheelchair in the hallway screaming unintelligibly. There's staff a few feet away, but they just ignore them. As a visitor, you think "why doesn't someone help this person?" Then after a few visits you realize that this is regular behavior for this person and that speech or occupational therapy isn't working or being done properly. There's not much the nursing/orderly staff can do about it besides tune it out. They can't fix it. |
