New Hire Needs a Translation

I work in an all Nortel shop. We just hired a new guy and he has only worked on Avaya. I would like to be able to translate between the two worlds so that his training can be as smooth as possible. Can any of you tell me how I can best help him transition? Are there reference materials that I could read that will help me be a better trainer to him?
