As an expert an DS0 to DS3 testers, having used every kind of Tberd to agilent set from DS0 to OC-48. I would have say that plugging a laptop in logged into ld 60, is pretty lame. When comes to really good T-1 stats, ld 60 sucks.

Look at ebay, if you can find a TPS, they good little testers. I have seen them for around 1,200. YOu may even find one that had PRI software, so that you can monitor DCH stats.
Also I am seeing a lot of the old TTC 224 sets out there for 1,000 to 2,000 or so.
now I am talking testers that sold new for 10 grand to 20 grand originally

One probelm with PBX people is that most think the swicth has the ultimate diagnostics. Nothing beats a good installation were you are using DSX panels to manage your T-1's, instead of Rj-48c jacks. Then you can really use a test set
