As far as creating your ELAN (Symposium and Meridian Link): To install the ELAN, follow these steps: 1 Connect all ELAN network cables from Nortel equipment to the Ethernet hub: A. Two M1 cables from core 0 and core 1 (only one cable from Option 11 type switch) B. ELAN cable from server C. (optional) ELAN cable to a MAT PC D. (optional) ELAN cable to customer WAN router 2 Plug in the power cord for the hub. Ensure the hub is powered on. Server Side Installation: 1. Connect the 10BaseT cable (From the Meridian AML) to the RJ45 jack on the back side of the server. 2. COM Port 1 is used for a Modem 3. COM Port 2 is used for the link to Meridian Mail 4. A network card will be installed and used for the CLAN. Meridian Side Installation: 1. Install a cable from the M1 Core (I'm using Jack 23 on the Backplane) 2. Connect the Core cable to a Ethernet Transceiver/MAU 3. The other end of the RJ45 on the Server. Meridian Side Programming: A. Determine Card - You can use an MSDL card or a QPC513 SDI card. Once you have to card type - Set your Ports up. Also determine your Device number.. Program your AML >LD 17 REQ CHG TYPE ADAN Enter ADAN to create a new AML. ADAN NEW AML 0-15 Enter NEW AML followed by a device number to create a new application module link. CTYP aaa Specify the I/O port card type. USER aaa Specify the user of the Port.
