Well I am certainly not going to get into a dispute but here goes anyways. The 7000 is a Linux platform itself, was Redhat then switched to Centos. The voice mail (EM) runs on the Systems Manger Box, in this case a server platform, not win 2000. The 7000 not unlike many brand new systems needed time to mature. In smaller deployments it was fine. Larger installs or installs that had special needs had some issues, this was not unexpected for a brand new platform. Given some time like any other new platform Inter-Tel released it would of been solid. Ver 1.0 and the earlier beta was not good but by 1.1 there was great progress made. Look at the track record of the Axxess or the 5000 when they were brand new, it was much the same. Earlier products, the IMX, GMX, clear back to the SPX which was a disaster, not to mention the KeyLux. By the way if Steve Mihaylo was still at the helm, I am sure the 7000 would not of been released when and how it was. All this being said I think the 7000 is a part of history now....
Having that off my chest, I agree the 5000 is a great product, now. When it released it barely sold until we developed the DEI. Now it's hard to keep in stock. Early software had/has some issues, all that were handled by the best of engineers.
I am also certified on the 3300 as well as many Mitel Applications and think it is a great product. Not SIP at the core like the 7000, but certainly a very stable product. We will be pushing the 3300 that is for sure, the 5000 may be molded into the Mitel product line as far as integration goes. The 3300 by the way uses VX Works which with out a doubt is as stable as it gets. All I can hope is the engineers at Mitel work with the Inter-Tel engineers and take the best from both worlds and create the best product possible.
If you don't agree with what I have said here that is certainly your right, these are my opinions. Please don't post a message to tell me I am wrong, because this becomes your opinion, not mine. We should all learn to respect each others opinions not tear them apart. I respect your opinion and if you wish to share it then I will read it and ponder your thoughts.

I love the 5000.....Linux based, 1U,etc. The 7000 has the windows 2000 Enterprise Voicemail........ Ohhhhh.....let me take a break to laught!!!! W2K VMail....man that is funny. LOL |
