| Are these two machines directly connected or do you go through the PSTN to connect them?
If it goes out to the public network, you need to be concerned with the protocol on the "add ds1 <board number>" page. If it is a direct connect you can leave it at the default protocol which is NI1. Also, if it goes to the public network I would make it an ISDN T1 because that will give you a better connection.
If it is a direct connection you will need to roll the send and receive pairs and if the R6 Definity gives you a "lineside" option on the "add ds1 <board number>" page choose that, I do not remember if that option is available on an R6 because I have not worked on one in years. If you do not have lineside then stay with ISDN. The trunk group type should be tie. __________________
