We recently had to do this with a switch I inherited that I don't really do much work on, but I needed the 2nd level for something and didn't have it. It didn't cost me a dime to have my vendor have thier 3rd level Nortel techs go in and get it for me. Maybe I was just lucky, but they seemed happy to do it. .. I would check with them before you assume you have to pay big $$ to have them retrieve it.
