Unhappy Silence gaps and quality issues

Hi,

I have an Alti-IP1 running with 2 Voip boards for international internet calls and an analog extension board for local PSTN lines. I have a strange issue with my system that even my tech support hasn't been able to figure out: when talking on the phone, it could be from inner extension to another inner extension, to the PSTN lines, or to the VoIP lines... now and then there is a "silence gap" where the call sort of cuts off and you can hear anything for a second or two.. after that the calls resumes as normal.

I am using mainly the g723.1 codec for dynamic extension phones, and g711 for static IP phones..

Any suggestions would greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks
