We may not have a “season” up here for blizzards but we sort of feel that anytime after Halloween and up until Easter we could get a blizzard.
We even have weather forecast people that can see a blizzard coming just like a hurricane. I will say though that a hurricane can be seen earlier than a blizzard.
We don’t have to evacuate when we get a blizzard. Can you imagine the government telling us to go some were else during a blizzard? Can’t go to higher ground.
When the blizzard leaves us we end up digging out. If I get dug out sooner than my neighbors I will help them. We have to wait for the plows to come by to be able to drive on the roads. Believe it or not, not all of us can afford a 4x4. Not having one makes it difficult to get around town. I will say if someone gets stuck 99% of the people will help push them out so they can be on there way. I would never think of taking money from someone I just helped. We do it because it’s the right thing to do.

The article posted maybe a tad fictitious but basically it’s true. We do things up in this neck of the woods a little different. We care about the people around us and we welcome anyone.
