Yes, Germany does indeed adjust the fine to the speeder's income (as it's known on their taxes). It's also nice to know that the fine is less if paid on the spot *wink*. AFAIK, that's a legal practice by the Polizei to give a discount for paid in cash, though I doubt they're legally allowed to pocket any. That was about 10 years ago, things may have changed. |
